Welcome to the jungle

Here it is: Yet Another Blog about Learning Technology. Yet Another Blog about an ongoing PhD Thesis. I hope it helps me to focus and be more regular in the development of this so important thing in my life right now. And it has to be in English: that's the deal with myself!

As you may guess the main topic of my thesis is technology enhanced learning, that is, how to use technological artifacts in order to improve teaching and learning. In concrete, due to several causes (the ICOPER project in particular), I have been working recently with assessment formats and processes. That's the first keyword of my work. Secondly, as my twitter profile denotes, I'm in love with the web, passionate with the new web open standards and specifications: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SVG, etc. Let's say that this is the second keyword. And finally, here it is the learning analytics part: let's use the analysis of statistics to improve the learner's experience and motivation; furthermore, let's assess student by the process they follow to develop a product, better than the product itself (though the product is also important). This topic is supposed to be quite important in the mid-term for the learning technology community; that's what the futurologists say.

So, what's the purpose of this blog? Let's cite some contribution examples: reflections about any news related to my three topics, my experiences at class (I'm also associate teacher), any bright new idea I has in mind. And you guys, you have to help me commenting about them ;)

I really hope this new news source was relevant enough for you all (learning practitioners). Let's start the ride... and see how long it takes... how far it takes us
